By:Dyl Squire Sports Team
The 2018 Winter Olympics this year are held in Pyeong Chang South Korea. So far the United States has won 3 gold medals! One event is the luge. The luge is a sled with two tusk like spikes in the front. The United States won their first ever medal in the luge this year. Snowboarder Shawn White had an “unbelievable qualifying round” says Corner Canyon student Cole LaTour. His qualifying round scored higher than the previous years round. Shawn White won the gold medal for the half-pipe snowboarding event this year. The olympics this year are generating lots of excitement and pride in America. “America has a very good chance of winning this year,” Says Corner Canyon student Cannon Watson. Hopefully the United States will surface with the victory this year. The Olympics end on February 25th.

Utah Jazz Versus the New Orleans Pelicans
By:Dyl Squire Sports team
On Monday, February 4th, the Utah Jazz played against the New Orleans Pelicans. The final score was 133 (Jazz) to 109 (Pelicans). Well known rookie Donovan Mitchell could not play too much in this game due to a recent break down of the flu. Even though he played for 19 minutes he only scored 2 points. “He’s not doing too well,” said Lance Squire, a Jazz enthusiast, “He looks so tired and even a little queasy.” Rodney Hood, on the other hand, made 12 out of his 14 shots. Having a total of 30 points. Joe Ingles also stepped up this game scoring 18 points on 4/5 from three with 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. The Utah Jazz are on a 6 game winning streak after this. If they keep this up they could have an extremely good chance of getting a higher seed in the playoffs. “Maybe we’ll do better than a number 8 seed this year,” said Cannon Watson, a Student at Corner Canyon High School. Although Donovan Mitchell is not doing so hot because of his recently inquired sickness, he will be competing in the NBA Dunk Contest during the NBA All Star weekend.

The Chargers Wrestling team visited Jordan High School this week for the State Championship. Our very own Brody Ross, Freshman Wrestler for Corner Canyon enjoyed the meet saying, “ It was a really fun time, and a really fun year for wrestling, For my first year it was great.” Definitely a year to remember for Charger Wrestling and Charger Sports in general!
Lebron To Golden State?
A rumor started earlier this morning in the NBA about Lebron possibly joining the warriors. There is a very big belief that Lebron will end up Leaving Cleveland for another team. And now he said he’d listen to the warriors as an option in the offseason. This move would completely shake up the NBA landscape. The Golden State Warriors roster already has two former MVPs and FOUR all-stars. After this Lebron Rumor Dropped the NBA fanbase went crazy. Other main contenders for Lebron Includes, Houston, Los Angeles, and the clippers. (Via Bleacher Report)
Lebron’s team is also not doing good this year with the injury bug to, Kevin Love (Broken Hand), Derrick Rose, Isiah Thomas, etc. The Cavs are 30 and 20 now, and are third in the eastern conference. Looking like we are not going to see the 4th part to Golden State vs. Cleveland.
Where do you think Lebron will go to?
